Our Story

Josh and I met as teenagers in my hometown in Grand Junction, Colorado only by God’s divine plan. Often, we would drive to visit his grandparents that helped raise him in a small rural town in Blanco, New Mexico. On these long drives we would talk about our dream of raising a family and cattle on a ranch someday even though neither one of us knew a thing about raising kids or cows.

After we got married, we couldn’t wait to start our family. I remember walking across my RN graduation ceremony barely pregnant with our first child. Josh was working in the oilfield at the time. Typically, he put in 12 to 17-hour days which did not leave much time for our family life. I would keep Jaycee awake just long enough for him to kiss her goodnight and of course he was gone before we woke up in the morning. It was then that we realized no amount of money was worth being away from our family.

Josh changed his job to the waste industry at an attempt to be home more. As a new mom I found my love of homemaking and we decided I would only work one day a week as a Registered Nurse so I could focus on raising our children.

It took us 8 years of making the right moves for us to afford land. We started our ranching journey on just under 10 acres. We were blessed with crossing paths with other local farmers and ranchers who taught us more about regenerative agriculture which involves soil health, animal husbandry and rotational grazing practices. It was then that we found our love for grass-fed beef. I became a full time stay at home mom and started homeschooling our children.

Quickly after, we maxed out on our capacity at that ranch, and we were greatly blessed to expand our ranching operations. We now live in Yellow Jacket, Colorado which is a rural town with just over 200 people in it. Adding to that small population with our now family of six: Josh, Destiny, Jaycee, Jolene, Jaxon, Jason.
